I don’t fully understand why we won’t see The Hobbit at 48 FPS

Peter Jackson has shot The Hobbit at 48 frames per second, instead of the usual 24, in order to smooth out the 3D effects. Buzzfeed reports that the 48 fps version will be given an extremely limited release, because the effect of film shot at twice its normal speed is apparently quite unsettling. Continue reading →
