Most overlooked posts March 2010 to March 2011

Some posts just slip under the radar, which is a shame because it is you the reader who ends up missing out. Here are the top 10 least viewed posts, and I really think you should take a look in case you’re missing something really special.

1. La Mar Enfortuna

Unlike anything I’ve ever heard, but among the best of anything I’ve heard remotely like it, this mixture of “world music” and art rock hits all the right notes.

2. Sophie Ellis Bextor – Move This Mountain

A “Music Monday” celebration of an underrated double-A-side single. Sophisticated, well-written pop music.

3. How NOT to be a rich, famous rock star

Amusing and fairly impressive footage of someone winning at music games.

4. Spooks

OK, so season 9 was a disappointment, but no need to ignore the preceding series: at one point, this was the best show on television.

I thought I’d see in the Year of the Rabbit by linking to UNKLE’s Rabbit In Your Headlights, with vocals by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. The award-winning video is just remarkable.

6. Crazy Penguin Catapult 2

If you like Angry Birds, you should definitely be investigating this seriously fun mobile game.

7. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines

My celebration of one of the most well-regarded and best-loved role-playing games. With a focus on witty dialogue and gritty action, this Buffy-esque game has a killer soundtrack.

8. 500 Days of Summer

Jospeph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. Hmmm. I probably could have sold that film to you in six words.

9. Things I have worried about: tales of mere existence

Astonishing animated short film.

10. The Men Who Stare At Goats

Painfully funny film starring George Clooney and Ewan McGregor. It’s based on a true story, if you’ll believe it.
