Sufjan Stevens – You Are The Blood

As usual, I’ve left it far too late to write anything meaningful, so here’s the last thing I listened to before going to bed tonight. I’m pretty glad he abandoned his plan to write 50 albums – I’d be bankrupt!

According to the eternal wisdom of the internet, this is a cover of a song by the Castanets, originally on Ray & Rotating Co’s 2004 album Cathedral – his labelmates on Asthmatic Kitty. The original song, so I’m told, has “minimal gothic atmospherics”, whereas this one still sounds – as the Guardian‘s Alex Petridis would put it – like music made under the influence of Brass Eye‘s drug Cake.
