#musicmonday : The Bee Gees (Robin Gibb 1949-2012)

Another day, another loss, and another keenly felt. The Saturday Night Fever OST was one of the main soundtracks to my childhood, and one which I can still appreciate now.


There’s just too many great songs to list them all here, including the ones they came up with afterwards


– including some notable hits for other people.


Paul Bambaccini said that the Bee Gees were “second only to Lennon and McCartney as the most successful songwriting unit in British popular music”. More important still, The Bee Gees were one of the most successful teams we’ve had at crafting distinctive, lasting, genuinely wonderful songs.
