The new trailer for Iron Man 3 has all the requisite drama and romance and (mostly) explosions, but it has a new, unwelcome trait.
Angst.
The one thing that marked out Iron Man from it peers was its refreshingly angst-free hero.
Angst was fine in Batman when other heroes were light and silly, but now ALL costumed crimefighters are sullen, we need a bit of light relief.
I hope that’s just a misinterpretation from the trailer, and Iron Man 3 turns out to be as fluffily fun as its predecessors – otherwise we’ll end up watching My Little Pony‘s gritty reimagining.
