Ignore the Coldplayish intro, this is math-pop, or so say the Cardiacs fans enthusing about Everything Everything.
They’re right – it’s tuneful and infectious with the right amount of quirk. Stuff like this would have been popular in the 80s – you know, Talking Heads and all that. Clever, but fun.
They have degrees in pop music, and made a career of it. Their album got to number 5. Good on ’em.
